One of these historical heritages will open your horizons of knowledge about the Kingdom of Karangasem Bali. Sukasada Park became the first step in this historical journey. And enjoy the splashing water in the refreshing of Tirta Gangga Park.
We shall be visiting the Tirtagangga water palace, built in 1948 by the King of Karangasem. The temple is a maze of pools and fountains surrounded by a lush garden of stone carvings and statues. The one-hectare complex has been lovingly re-built and restored after the eruption of the nearby Mt. Agung in 1963, now and once again, it has an air of authentic royal magnificence. The centerpiece of the palace is an eleven tiered fountain and there are many beautiful carvings and statues adorning the gardens.
Before heading to Tirtagangga, we will make a stop in Klungkung, the old cultural center of Bali. The King of Klungkung is regarded as the noblest Prince among the Balinese aristocracy. Next is a visit to the Kertha Gosa or the Royal Court of Justice, which once was the High Court of the land.
After Kusamba, we will move onto the Goa Lawah or the Bat Cave Temple, followed by a visit to the Traditional Village of Tenganan.
The last stop will be at Taman Ujung or Sukasada Park, which once was the palace of King Karangasem. In the Dutch East Indies era, this place is known by the name of Waterpalais.
